The area seemed pleasant, and the local chemist mentioned that there wasn’t a GP next to his Pharmacy! The existing doctors in the area including South lake's Practice, and Dr John Evans, were very mannerly and gracious during our initial approach to them about our intentions, and we thank them for this. The practice gradually grew, and for many years we did our own after hours labor day and night, with the aid of Dr Marlene Spear from Cooranbong. This certainly left us with some very colorful memories of the area. We eternal wanted to have a waiting room where we knew most of the people. The practice was an premature adopter of computerization of practice notes and scripts in the mid 1990s with the encouragement of Dr Evans, and in 2005 the records became fully digitized behind a potent hint from a young GP registrar. We particularly want to thank the wonderfully hard busy and proficient staff, doctors and nurses who have helped over the final 20 years. The practice usually has between 35 doctors occupied at one time, and 12 nurses, along with a Cardiologist with echo cardiogram service, Clinical Psychologist, counselor, Podiatrist, Dietitian and an Audiologist. One or two of the medical positions are training positions for the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP) Fellowship exams, and the registrars are very involved in their educational pursuits.
Our practice provides diagnostic services for acute medical problems and managing tolerant needs. Our doctors can provide local home visits to patients if required. With training in Family Planning, Obstetrics and pediatrics, our qualified doctors and nurses can assist yield the best individual options for each patient, offering many of these services within our practice. If you feel it's safer to present to the surgery we will stabilize the illness until transfer to hospital can be arranged.
