Focus Physio Pilates is a progressive physiotherapy practice and boutique Pilates Studio. Formerly Focus Pilates Studio’, Alisha Wade and Erik pore who are passionate about getting people to move well and move often, took over the Studio in premature 2015 with the vision of transforming the studio into a facility with a holistic approach to injury rehabilitation. Thorough understanding of their principles and how they interrelate creates further clarity and a unique and progressive approach to injury rehabilitation. A local girl who grew up running up and down goat tracks to Dudley Beach with a surfboard lower her arm and excelling in Karate and Thai Boxing, Alisha Wade has perpetual had a passion for health and fitness. She has been teaching Pilates to some extent the entire time she has been away as has integrated her ability and knowledge to become arguably one of the most experienced and knowledgeable instructors practicing. Don’t let her size fool you either, she trains with Kettlebells that weigh almost half her body weight. A self confessed nerd, Erik’s pursuit of knowledge is relentless. Obvious by some to happily read a textbook or listen to hours of podcast, he is passionate about Physiotherapy and optimizing movement. He is a steady believer that many of the chronic diseases unused society faces can be helped with ample exercise and nutrition, however, too often people who undertake an exercise program or begin a fresh activity become injured because movement quality was impoverished to begin with. Resolving pain and restoring movement quality is Erik’s forte. Erik also loves to train and push himself. He is no slouch with weight training either and loves to train compressed with kettle bells.
