From a writers notes. As she explains, "to be given the chance to use my singing to express emotions in a song, and to touch someone else's life, is one of the most pleasurable things I can do". Jodi would love to bring additional warmth to any occasion you feel a live performance may bring, whether a few or more songs, it is an experience to be remembered by all. Jodi also hopes that whoever purchases this CD will thoroughly enjoy listening to the songs that have become part of her life over the past 20 years. Jodi has wanted to record some of her favourite songs for everyone to enjoy for a very long. Jodi's love and passion for music has seen her mature over the last 18 years since leaving University as she has not only been able to work in the high school system teaching and educating students about all aspects of music and performing, but she has also been able to further her performing status in singing by performing at the opening of the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation Exhibition (1991), performing at functions for the BHP Christmas Dinner (1993 and 1994), singing the National Anthem at the Basketball Stadium in Newcastle (1993), Weddings and Funerals through the Sydney and Hunter region (1994-present) and performing at the 2010 Carols by Candlelight at Speers Point, in front of 30,000 people. After graduating university with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, she also went on to further study operatic singing with Mrs Karen Walmsley, and gained her Associate Degree A.T.C.L. through The Trinity College of London. Whilst studying for her degree she was able to learn many oratorios, Edvard Greig (1843-1907), Robert Schumann (1810-1856), Franz Schubert (1797-1828), Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924), Wolfgang Mozart (1756-1791), George Frederic Handel (1685-1759), lieder and 20th Century songs from composers namely, operatic arias, and Gabriel Faure (1845-1924). Jodi went on to study a Bachelor of Music Education, at Newcastle University, and went on to perform in many large productions that where presented by the Newcastle Conservatorium. His enthusiasm for teaching music was infectious for many of his students. It was here that she met a music teacher named Mr Bruce Rixon, who became a prominent figure in her musical future. She loved being part of choirs or jazz bands as became the case in years 11 and 12 at Oakhill College, Castle Hill. Being surrounded by musicians always seemed to be a strong focal point in her life. This love for music continued into her high school years, where she also learned to play the guitar and later on the tenor saxophone. She also found great joy in performing in front of an audience. Jodi Cassaniti was born an extremely musical child, and started learning the piano at the tender young age of 5.
