Anglican Care, as a provider of contemporary aged care services within Christian values, aims to enhance the healthy being and quality of life of its residents, consumers and their families and carers. The number of aged care residents and consumers that Anglican Concern provides concern and services to, has increased from 150 to more than 1200. In addition to being Chairman of the Board for Anglican Care, John has been on the Board of the Samaritans for 30 years, a trustee of the Anglican Diocese for 36 years and has been involved with Charleston Meals on Wheels for 30 years. Colin is responsible to the Board of Anglican Care for all aspects of the business, both strategic and operational. Anglican Care is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who help Anglican Care in performing to its superior potential. The Board of Directors role is to yield governance and strategic direction and labor effectively with senior management to ensure lofty quality protection and service delivery. All Directors live within the regions serviced by Anglican Care and are committed to community development and improving aged and community services. Amber is responsible for providing financial urge across all business areas of Anglican Care, along with the development and mentoring of the finance team. This position ensures delivery of accurate, on time financial reports and developing strategic relationships with operational stakeholders across the organization. Gerard is responsible for the management of all of Anglican Care’s property services, including responsibility for the Maintenance Services. Jane joined Anglican Protection in 2010, with over 15 years’ experience occupied in government, consultancy and finance. Kyle is responsible for leading the development and management of communications and marketing across the organization. Occupied closely with Anglican Care’s CEO, Kyle initiates and implements specific marketing, communications and promotional programs and assists in sourcing funding for the implementation of innovative programs across the organization. Having worked at Anglican Care for the former 16 years, Kyle has an excellent knowledge of the organization, together with the aged protection industry in general. Anglican Concern is continually striving to yield excellent protection and enhanced lifestyles both in service delivery and in addressing the needs of its staff and the community. These prestigious awards encourage, admit and pay tribute to individuals, communities, businesses and groups who are making a important contribution to regional and rural areas. The awards bring together industry leaders to celebrate excellence in the Human Resources' profession, recognizing individuals, teams and companies for their outstanding achievements in people management. Anglican Concern was announced as the consecutive winner of the Not for Benefit and Charity category of the 2013 and 2014 Awards. Two of Anglican Care’s projects were announced as finalists in the 2013 Awards, with Nostalgic Pathways being announced as the winner of its category. These awards were originate to all businesses in Lake Macquarie and were aimed at showcasing the area’s success and to encourage all businesses to strive for excellence. Anglican Protection was awarded their third Better Practice Award in the category of Innovation’ for the development and implementation of a workplace safety Take 5 calendars’. Anglican Protection is an aged concern ministry of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle. The social welfare arm of the diocese, Samaritans, employs over 500 staff in areas of disability, youth, children and community services. Anglican Care aged concern services provides for 1200 residents and consumers and growth continues with fresh constructions underway.

Cherishing generations to arrive and former traditions, is a special blessing of Anglican Care. In the 1950’s, the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle observed that there would be an increasing need for aged persons. Allowing for flexibility of service delivery, a important parcel of land was purchased at Booragul which was to bear a secure deposit for concern and encourage for the aged. In the 60 years since this visionary decision by the Diocese, the name has changed the excellent standards of care have evolved, as has the complexity of issues facing those living so much longer. Anglican Protection has continued to thrive, to become the innovative and progressive aged care organization that it is today. This continued growth and expansion is in no little part due to the generosity shown by the many people who have devoted their time and energy to Anglican Care: volunteers, staff, family members, the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle, the local community and the Commonwealth Government.
